EPAC provides clear guidelines to ensure that political advertising contain credible information, builds trusts, address the dangers of AI- generated content and rebuilds trust in politics.

  • No, the EPAC is a self-regulated, voluntary Code that candidates, parliamentarians and special interest groups can adopt to demonstrate their commitment to maintaining integrity throughout political discourse.

  • The EPAC is a voluntary, self-regulatory code for candidates, parliamentarians and special interest groups. If you are a candidate, parliamentarian or special interest group and would like to adopt the Code, please send an enquiry through to zali.steggall.mp@aph.gov.au. All adopters to the Code can be found on the EPAC website: www.epac.today

  • EPAC authorisation should be used across all candidate advertising to signal to your constituents your advertising is truthful, trustworthy and authentic. This includes all advertising, including social media. Where the full authorisation does not fit, we encourage the use of the EPAC logo to certify compliance.

  • Yes. As a signatory to the Code, all AI-generated content needs to be properly labelled as not to mislead voter

  • The EPAC is a self-regulatory code. Rather than having an external enforcement body, adopters will be accountable to the public as breaches can be reported to the AAP Fact Check.
